The End of Winter

Here are a few of our activities over the winter months ... keeping busy and bundled!

Our winter errands often involve a stop at the skate sharpening counter prior to Friday/Saturday night games. At said games, Mette kept a close eye on her favorite hockey player.

Clear, winter afternoons have us getting out for some fresh air as long as it's not too windy. Here, Mette and I joined a friend of mine from work, her baby and two dogs for an "over the river and through the woods" kind of adventure. Mette enjoyed a nap.
We took an afternoon walk on Family Day in February to explore some new territory in our own backyard. Again, Mette was bundled securely - this time on a sled - and slept most of the way. Nothing is nicer than a quiet walk through the woods on a sunny winter's day.

We also got out on another (much colder!) weekend in February to take in Ottawa's Winterlude Festival. The sun was shining, people were skating, and likely everyone stopped for hot chocolate and a Beavertail at some point. We walked the canal for 3km before turning around and heading back to the car.

Finally, what's a stop at Costco in Ottawa in March like? Sometimes snowy.
